Check Frequency

The one thing ProRankTracker is lacking is the option to adjust the check frequency. The tool provides automatic updates for all your terms once per day and does not include a live notification system. This means you’d have to wait a full day to see if there are any changes in your keyword rankings.

The one workaround here is on-demand updates, but these are only available to users with Standard, Advanced, or Business plans ($89 and above). On-demand updates allow you to manually refresh the rankings for all your terms, once per day. Keep in mind that you can’t refresh the rankings for the same term multiple times. 

Full SERPs

The “Full SERPs” is a relatively new addition to ProRankTracker’s list of features. It’s essentially a competitor analysis feature that enables you to see where you rank for the chosen keyword and who your top competitors are.

The feature only shows you the pages associated with the keyword and their rankings on Google. It doesn’t allow you to click the pages to see what your competitors are writing about the topic — you have to copy & paste the URLs if you want to take a look at their articles.

ProRankTracker Full SERPs Feature

There is no search volume for the keyword either. The feature only shows the longevity, top position, the bottom position. You can also see each domain’s WhoIs data, but we don’t see how this is relevant to your SEO efforts. 

The chart view can be helpful to keep track of how your rankings and the rankings of your competitors change over time, but overall, the information this feature provides is bare bones. 

Reports

ProRankTracker has an excellent reporting feature — one of the most detailed we’ve seen from a rank tracker.

There are several types of reports the tool can help you generate: 

• Overview reports — a detailed overview of the rankings for your URL or selected terms
• Progress reports — reports that highlight changes in your website’s term rankings
• Comparison reports — comparison of the rankings of the selected term on different URLs or in different search engines
• Benchmark reports — a great way to see the progress of your rankings for the same URL between two dates, weeks, or months 
• Client reports — customizable reports with shareable links, so you can quickly send them to clients or team members
• Automated reports — scheduled reports you can receive via email, or to your Dropbox or Drive account

The reports ProRankTracker generates are quite detailed, and you can have the data displayed as lists, graphs, and charts, allowing you to easily gauge your site’s SEO performance.

Site Audit

The site audit feature lets ProRankTracker crawl your website and check it against various SEO parameters, like loading speed, on-page SEO, mobile responsiveness, etc. It’s a great way to see your site’s overall SEO performance and identify areas you can improve.

The audit can show you the most frequently used keywords, duplicate content, pages without proper keyword optimization, issues with headings and meta titles/descriptions, and other elements of your website that you can tweak to boost your rankings. 

The Standard pricing plan allows you to audit ten websites and 200,000 pages. The insights this feature provides are quite valuable, so we recommend taking full advantage of ProRankTracker’s site audit.

Rankings Discovery

“Rankings Discovery” is the term ProRankTracker uses for simple keyword suggestions. At its core, this feature just shows you which keywords your website is already ranking for in the top 100 results and allows you to add them to be tracked.

The great thing about this feature is that it shows you which search engine and device each suggested keyword is ranking for. 

One thing that’s slightly confusing is that ProRankTracker also has a “Keyword Suggestion” feature on top of their “Rankings Discovery.” The main difference is that the suggested keywords are the ones you’re not ranking for, so they represent opportunities to create content around these topics and attract more organic visitors.

That said, the tool only provides a list of suggested keywords, but not their search volumes. In all honesty, these two features of ProRankTracker are a bit underwhelming, and we definitely wouldn’t recommend relying on them to do your keyword research and choose which terms to track.
