In this article, we’ll take a look at Wincher — a simple, yet powerful rank tracker that might be a perfect fit for bloggers and marketers due to its WordPress integration. We’ll also show you how you can use ClusterAi to automate your keyword research and tracking.
About Wincher
Wincher is one of the most user-friendly rank trackers on the market. It’s incredibly easy to use while providing enough functionality to meet all your keyword tracking needs.
On the tool’s homepage, you can sign up for a 14-day free trial to test out Wincher and see how the tool integrates into your workflow. You won’t need to insert credit card details, so you don’t have to worry about being charged for the tool automatically after the trial is over.
Wincher Homepage
Note that the signup form requires you to input your website URL and select the region you want to check your rankings for. You can check your rankings for Google only but can select from various different countries, which is quite useful if you’re targeting a specific market.

Creating a Wincher Account
What we like about Wincher is that it guides you through the entire process, step by step. Wincher tells you exactly what you need to do to get started with rank tracking.
- Add at least five new keywords
- Highlight three of them as important keywords
- Add competitors to see how they rank
- Use keyword research to get ideas for future content
Wincher’s Step-by-Step Guide
When you create the account, the tool will automatically provide you with an overview of twenty pages on your website, ranking them by position. Note that, with the free trial, you can only monitor up to five keywords, so choose carefully and pick the ones that are the most important for your brand.
Wincher Dashboard
From the dashboard (the default page once you log in), you can immediately see that Wincher provides a lot more information than merely showing you the position of your pages for different keywords.
The tool also displays information regarding:
- The featured snippets and the “people also ask” section (Features in the image above)
- Position changes for every keyword
- Cost per Click (CPC)
- Search volume for every given keyword
- And monthly traffic
In the top right corner, you can check the box to select all pages, or you can select them individually in case you want to see their ranking history, assign them to a group, or delete a particular keyword.
One thing to note is that, with the free trial, the checks are performed weekly. This means you only get two free checks for the 20 keywords the tool picks automatically and the five you add manually. You’ll have to wait a week to see how the keywords you want to monitor perform, but you’ll get to see their current rankings right away.
When it comes to pricing, Wincher is quite affordable, but the tool does have some limitations. The paid plans start at €10 per month, but for the lowest price, you’re limited to 100 keywords and one website.
If you want to track keywords across multiple projects, you’ll have to choose a more pricey plan. Each additional website costs €3 and adds 100 keywords you can track. The maximum is 50 websites and 5,000 keywords for €157 a month.
Wincher Pricing
Here’s a table with a quick overview of Wincher:

Wincher Features
Once you upgrade to a paid plan, you will get access to all of Wincher’s features and will be able to perform checks daily, rather than weekly. Selecting the check frequency is one of the core features that every rank tracker should have. Although the daily check gets the job done, it’s worth noting that there are other tools that offer a lot more flexibility, allowing you to perform the checks every two hours, four hours, daily, weekly, monthly, etc.
Apart from check frequency, other features Wincher offers include:
- Competitors
- Reporting and notifications
- WordPress plugin
- Keyword research
You’ll notice some of the key features that most rank trackers provide are missing. Wincher doesn’t have location support, giving you the opportunity to only select the country you want to check for but not a more specific geographic location.
At the same time, Wincher restricts your search to Google, so you can’t check your rankings for other search engines like Yahoo, Bing, and Yandex.
Another thing worth mentioning is that Wincher supports mobile keyword tracking, allowing you to see how you rank for desktop and mobile searches.
Competitors
The “Competitors” feature Wincher provides allows you to see how your website fares against your competitors for any given keyword. You can add various competitor websites, and the tool will provide you with graphs reflecting your and your competitors’ positions in Google search results.
Position Summary in Wincher’s “Competitors” Tab
The position summary is color-coded, so you can gauge how your website compares against the competition at a glance. When you hover over the graphs, it tells you how many pages you have in each position.
Below the graphs, you’ll find a list of the latest keyword positions. You can click the ranking position — both yours or your competitor’s — to see exactly what page is ranking in the Search Engine Results Pages (SERP).
Wincher Shows Us Google Rankings for “Pomeranian Mixed With Corgi”
TheDogDigest ranks #1 for the Corgi Pomeranian mix, but we can see one of our competitors at #2. You can check out any of the links by simply clicking on them from this window.
This is an excellent way to see what your competitors are doing right if they’re ranking higher than you and maybe even pick up on a few tricks! You can see what they covered in their articles and look for opportunities to expand on what they talked about to provide even more value to the readers.
Reporting and Notifications
With Wincher, you can also set up automated reports that the tool will send to your email, so you don’t have to constantly check the tool itself. You also have the option of adding multiple emails if you want to share the reports with your colleagues or clients.
Scheduling Reports in Wincher
This feature allows you to:
- Customize the frequency of the reports
- Select keywords you want the report to feature — all or specific keyword groups
- Choose the language of the report — only English and Swedish available
- Choose how the data in the table will be displayed within the report
Wincher also features a “Notifications” tab, where you can see your successes and alerts. If you don’t want to do a thorough check of all the keywords, you can reference this tab to see successes — typically when you hit position #1 — and other alerts that can, for instance, display a sudden drop in rankings.
WordPress Plugin
One of the reasons why Wincher is popular among bloggers and content marketers is the fact that it has an awesome WordPress plugin.
What the plugin does is essentially add your Wincher dashboard to WordPress, making it easier to keep track of keywords you want to rank for within WordPress itself. You don’t have to constantly switch tabs, and you’ll have an overview of the ranks for all the different keywords you added as you’re uploading new content.
You can add it like any other WordPress plugin, and it will allow you to see:
- The keywords you added in your dashboard
- The competitors you recorded
- Ranking changes for all keywords — each represented with a different color on a graph
- Keyword table with all the relevant information — ranking, URL, search volume
Keyword Research
Wincher’s keyword research feature can be quite valuable when used correctly. When you click on the “Keyword research” tab, you’ll see a comprehensive list of keyword suggestions, and you can add the ones you want with a simple click to start monitoring them.
This feature isn’t a keyword research tool per se, but it can provide you with suggestions for keywords to create new content around. By default, you’ll see a list of keywords your website is already ranking for, which show up in the first ten results on Google.
You can filter this list by, say, search volume, to see what keywords related to the ones you’re already ranking for have the highest search volume and traffic. Here’s an example for one of our websites — TheDogDigest.
Wincher’s Keyword Suggestions, Sorted by Search Volume
The tool provided us with over 900 keyword suggestions for our site. When we sort them by search volume, we can quickly identify keywords that we can create content around and drive a ton of organic traffic to our website.
Wincher’s paid plan also enables you to utilize the feature called “keyword groups.” This feature enables you to create groups and assign multiple keywords to them, so you can monitor related keywords more easily.
For example, we can create one group called “dog food” and track keywords like worst dog food, best dog food, puppy food, etc. more easily. We can do the same for “mixed breeds” and see how all our articles about various mixed breeds are doing.
This feature is simply a more convenient way to keep track of various related keywords and can show you which related keywords rank together for the same page. It’s not a strong keyword research process for professionals. While it does offer some insight into which keywords have high search volumes, we use Wincher primarily for its keyword tracking, rather than its keyword research.

See how we automate keyword research with ClusterAi in the following section.
ClusterAi — Automating Your Keyword Research Process Without Previous SEO Knowledge
Doing effective keyword research is often much more difficult than people anticipate.
- It requires a high-level of skill and extensive experience
- It’s typically a manual process that takes weeks to complete
- People trust their intuition and gut feelings, but nobody is using data to do keyword research
- High-level keyword research can’t be delegated to junior SEOs with limited experience
- Deliverables are inconsistent from one person to another
If you want to make keyword research and tracking as quick and simple as possible, ClusterAi will be your best friend!
We initially developed this tool for internal purposes — to automate keyword research for our agency. It has since become a core piece of our workflow, and we can’t imagine doing keyword research without it.
ClusterAi takes a data-driven approach to keyword research and completely automates the entire process, allowing anyone to perform expert-level keyword research in minutes, with no prior SEO knowledge.
- ClusterAi takes data directly from Google, ensuring your keyword research is perfect every time
- It eliminates uncertainty and removes the possibility of human error
- It allows you to delegate keyword research to any team member since everyone can effectively use ClusterAi, even if they have absolutely no SEO experience
- The tool allows you to import thousands of keywords, then clusters them into unique content topics based around the main keyword and its variations
- This is crucial if you want to rank high — you’ll know exactly what keywords each page should rank for and will be able to attract the maximum number of organic search visitors.
Here’s How We Use ClusterAi With Ahrefs to Perform Expert-Level Keyword Research in Minutes
Let us give you a real-life example of ClusterAi in action, to demonstrate just how much value you can get out of this incredible tool.
Say we wanted to start an affiliate website in the pet niche. One of the topics we want to cover is dog food. We want to make sure that we rank for every single search query related to “dog food” to ensure we capture as many organic visitors as possible.
First, we go to Ahrefs and use its ‘Have the same search term’ feature to look up dog + food.
The combination of the two terms generates over 450,000 variations. We can export the top 25,000 based on volume and import them into ClusterAi.
The tool automatically groups those 25,000 keywords into a variety of unique content topics, providing a comprehensive, easy-to-navigate list, showing us data by:
- Main keyword — the core keyword in each group; the one with the highest volume
- Search volume — total search volume for all keywords in one group
- Variations — all keyword variations that can rank together with the main keyword
That’s all there is to it! Within seconds, we get over 1,000 pages of keyword research. And it’s all based on data from Google, so it’s perfect every single time.
With ClusterAi, you don’t have to be a marketing genius or a keyword research expert. The tool does all the heavy lifting for you, and you’ll get a comprehensive list of keywords you can rank for in minutes, even if you have absolutely no SEO or keyword research experience.
