1. Keyword.com (SerpBook) Review & Alternatives — Is the Rebranded SerpBook Any Good?

SerpBook no longer exists. The tool was rebranded into Keyword.com, but very little has changed in terms of its functionality.

In this article, we’ll take a look at what this rank tracker offers and talk about Keyword.com alternatives, so you can choose the rank tracker that best fits your SEO needs.

Why You Should Listen to Us About Keyword.com

If you’re even slightly familiar with the concept of affiliate marketing, you’re probably aware of the fact that reviews done by affiliates don’t exactly paint the real picture of the product they’re trying to pitch you. They usually hype up the benefits — sometimes even blowing them out of proportion — and avoid talking about the disadvantages of the tool they’re recommending.

Most of the online reviews of SerpBook (they don’t seem to have updated the reviews to reflect the brand change) are from affiliates who get commissions for generating sales. It doesn’t come as a surprise that all of them are praising Keyword.com as the best rank tracker the world has ever seen. As you can imagine, this isn’t exactly the case.

That’s why we will give you an honest, unbiased review of Keyword.com. Instead of telling you how awesome or how bad it is, we’ll go over its features, explain what the tool can and cannot do, and let you draw your own conclusions.

We’ve reviewed over 35 of the most popular rank trackers on:

    • Speed
    • Accuracy
    • Check frequency
    • Other crucial features

This way, if you determine that Keyword.com isn’t for you, you can always check out various rank tracker alternatives to find the one that will align with your workflows and meet your needs.

When it comes to SEO, we know what we’re talking about. We’re not just giving you our opinion based on what “feels” right. All the information we share is based on data and real-life results.

In the last year alone, we took three projects from approximately zero to 100,000+ monthly organic search visitors!

With that out of the way, let’s jump right in and take a closer look at Keyword.com, formerly known as SerpBook.

    About Keyword.com (SerpBook)

Despite the rebranding, Keyword.com remains much the same tool, just under a different name. We could not find the answer as to why SerpBook opted for a rebrand, but from what we’ve seen on the tool’s website, they don’t appear to have changed anything other than the pricing.

The design was also tweaked slightly to align with the new branding. From a clean, professional-looking website of SerpBook, Keyword.com transitioned into what appears to be a sales page.

This time around, the company has opted for a more salesy approach. The tool’s homepage emphasizes social proof and features the company’s mission statement, but tells you very little about the tool itself. All you have to go on is one screenshot of the tool’s dashboard.

    Keyword.com Homepage

You would have to navigate to the Product Overview page to get any idea of what this rank tracker offers. Here, you’ll get a glimpse of the rank tracker’s features, but the website copy still won’t tell you anything regarding the check frequency, search engine support, accuracy, and other critical features you’d expect out of a rank tracker.

To learn what the tool actually does, your best bet would be to start a free trial.

    Keyword.com Free Trial & Pricing

The best way to get a feel for any type of software is to try it out. At a glance, Keyword.com doesn’t appear to offer a free trial. The only options you have from the tool’s homepage are Pricing, Case Studies, and Free Resources.

The resource page is just a handful of links that lead to a bunch of videos where the tool’s creator talks about “ranking in millions of dollars.” Although these resources can be useful, they don’t really teach you anything about effectively using the rank tracker.

    Keyword.com “Resources”

One thing that we have to commend Keyword.com for is the fact that they’ve revamped their pricing and moved away from an ambiguous model to uniform pricing plans. In the past, the Starter plan was over $300 per month, and allowed you to track up to 3,000 keywords.

    Keyword.com’s Old Pricing

No matter how you look at it, $300+ a month for 3,000 keywords is a bit too steep. There are plenty of Keyword.com alternatives that provide the same amount of keywords for one-tenth of the price.

We assume that the company became aware of this fact after a few months, given that they’ve completely revamped their pricing. The $24/month Starter package they’re offering now is a much more reasonable option, especially for people who are relatively new to the world of SEO.

    Keyword.com’s Revamped Pricing

If you need to track more than 1,500 keywords, you can “estimate your own plan,” with prices ranging from $24 for 100 keywords to $876 for 15,000 keywords. For anything above 15,000 you would have to get in touch with the company to get a custom quote.

Apart from the different prices, one notable difference between the old and new approach is the fact that Keyword.com opted to remove the free trial option. Whereas you previously had a risk-free period of seven days to check out the tool before making a commitment, the only way to see the tool in action now would be to purchase a monthly subscription.

The company does claim to offer a 14-day money-back guarantee, stating that they’ll give you a full refund if you’re not 100% satisfied with the software during the initial two weeks.

Here’s a quick overview of Keyword.com before we move on to the rank tracker’s features:

    Keyword.com (SerpBook) Overview
    Monthly cost From $24/month
Number of keywords From 100 keywords
    Search frequency  30
    Actual searches per month 3,000
    Cost per keywords/monthly $0.008
    Year funded 2011
Number of employees 11–50 (only one on LinkedIn)
    Facebook followers 244
    Twitter followers 223

    Keyword.com (SerpBook) Features

When it comes to functionality, Keyword.com doesn’t offer any features that would make it stand out from any other tracker on the market. The tool does however cover the basic rank tracking and reporting capabilities.

Here are the features Keywrod.com offers:

    1. Search engine and location support
    2. Check frequency
    3. Group management
    4. Alerts
    5. Reports
    6. Team access
    7. White labeling

    Search Engine and Location Support

Keyword.com allows you to check your rankings for Google, Bing, and Yahoo. When creating a new project, you can choose to track your rankings for both desktop and mobile searches.

Keyword.com also gives you the opportunity to filter the results by location, which is quite handy if you’re targeting a specific market. You can enter a region (country) and even type in a city or postal code if you want to see the rankings for a particular geographic area.

    Check Frequency

There is no option to change the check frequency of Keyword.com. The checks are performed automatically, once a day. That said, you can request manual, on-demand keyword updates from the tool’s dashboard.

The number of on-demand daily updates matches the number of keyword searches in different pricing plans, meaning you can refresh your keywords once a day to see their up-to-date rankings.

    Alerts

Keyword.com has an alert feature that will notify you each time there’s a significant change in your rankings — whether a keyword drops or rises in rank. The live notifications are an excellent way to keep track of how your rankings change in real-time, rather than having to wait for the daily updates.

You can also configure the conditions for the alerts — for example, a change by ten places — and have the tool send you an email with a quick overview of the changes every time those conditions are met.

    Reports

The tool has a simple reporting feature, allowing you to create and export reports as PDF and Excel files. You can organize the report by the current rank, rank change, the number of backlinks, and search volume.

Keyword.com also supports white-labeling, so you can customize the reports to add your logo, company name, and watermark.

    Team Access

The “Team Access” feature is excellent for agencies doing SEO for a variety of clients. This feature enables you to add new users to your account and give your clients or other team members easy access to the keyword ranking information.

To add new users, all you need to do is insert their email. They’ll receive a message from the tool in their inbox, and once they click the link, they’ll be able to view the projects you give them access to.

Apart from selecting which projects they’ll have access to, you can assign one of the following roles to other users:

    1. View only
    2. Add-on user
    3. Admin access

Overall, Keyword.com is fast and accurate, and it does cover all the basics regarding tracking your keywords. That said, it doesn’t offer anything out of the ordinary.

How to Automate Your Keyword Research and Tracking Before Using Keyword.com (SerpBook)

Keyword research, the way it’s mostly done nowadays, is broken.

    1. It requires a high level of skill and experience, meaning it can only be done by an SEO expert
    2. Most people manually research and track keywords, which takes a lot of time and effort
    3. Everyone’s giving advice based on their intuition, but nobody is using data to do keyword research
    4. It’s difficult, if not outright impossible to delegate quality keyword research to junior SEOs
    5. You get inconsistent deliverables between different team members

We weren’t willing to accept the state keyword research was in. Instead of making peace with it being a guessing game, we came up with a way to keyword research into an exact science.

We developed ClusterAi as a way to automate keyword research for our agency and have our SEO decision based on real-time data from Google. ClusterAi has since become a core piece of our workflow, and we’ve used it to rank on the first page of Google for over 100,000 keywords.

With ClusterAi, you can take a data-driven approach to keyword research. Plus, the entire process is completely automated, meaning anyone can do expert-level keyword research in minutes, regardless of their SEO knowledge and experience.

    • ClusterAi scrapes data from Google, allowing you to do keyword research based on facts instead of your gut feeling
    • The tool performs weeks-worth of keyword research almost instantly, saving you valuable time
    • With ClusterAi, anyone can do high-quality keyword research since the tool does all the heavy lifting for you
    • ClusterAi lets you import thousands of keywords and groups them into unique content topics based around the main keyword and its variations
    • It shows you exactly what keywords you can rank for with each page

How We Use ClusterAi with Ahrefs to Get 1,000+ Unique Content Topics in Minutes

To show you just how big of an impact ClusterAi can have on your SEO campaign, here’s an example of the tool in action.

Let’s pretend we’re starting an affiliate website in the pet niche, and we want to create content that revolves around dog food. In order to attract a large amount of organic traffic, we need to make sure that our content ranks for all the various keyword variations that include “dog food.”

To do so, we’ll fire up Ahrefs and navigate to its Keywords Explorer. We need to use the ‘Have the same search term’ to look up search queries that include both terms — “dog” and “food.”

Ahrefs returns over 450,000 variations that include the two terms. We can export the top 25,000 based on volume and import them into ClusterAi.

ClusterAi scrapes the first ten results on Google and looks for keywords on our list that have three or more URLs in common. Then, it automatically groups all keywords from our list into unique content topics.

In just minutes, we get a comprehensive list of keywords, showing us data by:

    • Main keyword — the core keyword the topic revolves around
    • Search volume — total search volume across all keywords in the group
    • Variations — all keyword variations that can rank together with the main keyword

That’s literally it. In less than 15 minutes, you can get 1,000+ unique content topics. Everything’s based on data from Google, so your keyword research will be perfect every time.

ClusterAi removes uncertainty from keyword research and allows you to delegate the task to anyone, regardless of their SEO experience. It doesn’t get easier or more data-driven than this!

Did You Find This Article on the First Page of Google?

Thanks to ClusterAi, we generated over 100,000 first-page keywords across our projects. And we did it all without building backlinks or doing any complicated technical BS.
