In this article, we’ll take a look at SERPROBOT, go over its features and capabilities, and show you how you can use this tool in conjunction with ClusterAi to get the most out of your keyword research efforts and secure high SERP rankings.

About SERPROBOT

SERPROBOT used to be known as Serplab.co.uk, but the company decided to rebrand and drop the “co.uk” in an effort to reach a global audience. SERPROBOT is among the more popular SERP rank trackers, and we’re inclined to believe that it’s because the tool used to be completely free.

The company changed SERPROBOT’s pricing recently, but the copy on their website still leads people to believe that the tool is free.

SERPROBOT Homepage

The free SERP check on the tool’s homepage is merely a spot checker, allowing you to enter your domain and check where you rank for a number of different keywords. This is basically a faster alternative to checking where your website ranks for different keywords manually. The main purpose of this spot check is to introduce you to the tool quickly and get you to register.

You can also see the rankings of a specific page on your website by checking the “Use URL” box, and can even see how your competitors are doing for a particular keyword you want to rank for. By default, the tool offers you five fields to input keywords, but you can always add more if you want to.

Getting Started with SERPROBOT

The page also introduces you to various features SERPROBOT offers and prompts you to register for free. Now, remember that we said that, with its rebranding, SERPROBOT also changed its pricing.

They still offer a generous 14-day free trial, which is more than enough time to check out the tool and see if you like it, but you’ll have to pay a monthly subscription after that. The price starts at $4.99 for one Bot, which can perform up to 300 searches per day, and goes up to $49.90 for ten SERP Bots.

SERPROBOT Pricing

The copy on their pricing page pitches the $4.99 as a limited time 50% discount.

SERPROBOT Overview

SERPROBOT Features

Before we get to the meat of the matter and see what SERPROBOT can do for you, let’s take a quick look at the signup process for the tool.

Thankfully, the process is rather straightforward. Once you click the “Register FREE!” button, all you need to do is enter your email address and set up a password, and you can start using the tool completely free of charge for 14 days.

SERPROBOT Free Trial

You don’t need to enter your credit card information, so there’s no need to worry about being automatically charged for it after the 14 days if you decide you don’t want to continue using SERPROBOT.

Note that the free SERP Bot is somewhat limited in its capabilities. You can check only 25 keywords per day, but that’s still plenty to get a feel for the tool.

We’ve gotten to the part you’re probably most interested in — what can SERPROBOT do? The basic features any rank tracker should offer include:

  1. Search engine support
  2. Location support
  3. Device support
  4. Check frequency

Search Engine Support

Depending on where your business is located, Google might not be the only — or even the primary — search engine people are using for search queries. Yandex, for example, is quite popular in Russia.

It’s always good for a rank tracker to offer support for other search engines, apart from Google, and SERPROBOT has you covered on that front. This tool provides support for:

  • Google local
  • Bing
  • Yahoo
  • YouTube

Different Project Types in SERPROBOT

Note that these are advanced options that are only available to you if you pay the $4.99 monthly subscription for an additional SERP Bot. One thing we like in particular is that SERPROBOT supports YouTube searches. This is a crucial feature for businesses that rely heavily on video content and YouTube marketing. It allows you to see just how well your video positions against competitors for the keywords you want to rank for.

Location support

Another crucial factor to consider when gauging the effectiveness of your SEO campaign is the users’ location. If you’re targeting a specific market or geographic location, you can add these variables into your project on SERPROBOT and see how your site ranks for keywords you add in a particular area.

With the free trial, you can only select global Google regions, but the paid version allows you to get a lot more specific and even narrow down the search location to a specific city. This is invaluable for brick & mortar businesses whose primary target audience is located in a specific geographic area.

Choosing a Search Location

When selecting a specific location, click the button shown in the image above to make sure that Google Maps recognizes it. Otherwise, the feature might not work properly, and you’ll just end up wasting your limited searches.

Also note that you can select the language of the results, which might be useful if you’re only targeting English-speakers, or if you’re, for instance, running a business in Amsterdam and only want to target the Dutch-speaking audience.

Device Support

When checking your SERP rankings, another useful parameter to consider is the device from which the users are typing their queries. Depending on how well your website is optimized for different devices, you might rank differently for desktop and mobile.

According to Statista, the mobile share of organic traffic for the first quarter of 2020 was a staggering 56%! This means that, on average, over half of users find businesses on their phones.

The ability to compare your desktop and mobile rankings is crucial. With SERPROBOT, you can quickly see how your rankings for different devices stack up against each other. If your mobile rankings aren’t as impressive as rankings for desktop, that’s a clear sign you need to put more work in making sure your website is optimized for mobile.

Check Frequency

Some rank trackers limit how often you can check your rankings. Thankfully, SERPROBOT isn’t one of them.

Once you set up a project in SERPROBOT, you can select it from your dashboard and select “Edit frequencies” to choose how often the tool will check your rankings for keywords you assigned to that project.

SERPROBOT Check Frequency Options

As you can see, you can choose to have it run the check every two hours, daily, weekly, or even yearly. The best option, in our opinion, is to have the SERPROBOT perform the checks daily, but you are free to choose the option that you’re most comfortable with. Regardless, it’s always good when a rank tracker offers you this much flexibility regarding search frequency.

Advanced Options

Apart from the standard features, SERPROBOT has a few advanced capabilities that you might find useful.

Most notably, SERPROBOT allows you to add keywords in bulk. This is a fantastic option when used together with ClusterAi since it allows you to add keyword clusters quickly and check the rankings for both the core keyword and its variations.

Another awesome feature in SERPROBOT’s arsenal is automated real-time email alerts. When there’s a sudden change in your rankings, on any of your projects, the tool will send you an email alert, notifying you that something’s up. This way, you can react promptly, and if there’s a sudden drop in your rankings, make the necessary adjustments to your SEO strategy and optimize your pages better.

One more thing we want to point out is the third-party view access feature. If you’re running SEO projects for clients, SERPROBOT gives you the opportunity to provide them with view access to the projects, so they can check the results of your efforts whenever they find it most convenient.

The one potential drawback of this tool is that it can bug out and have some downtime on occasion, but the developers are aware of these and typically fix them rather quickly.

How We Use ClusterAi to Automate our Keyword Research Before Tracking Them with SERPROBOT

Many SERPROBOT users use ClusterAi to pick which keywords they want to track. ClusterAi is a powerful keyword research tool that enables you to perform expert-level keyword research in minutes, even if you have absolutely no previous SEO experience.

If you simply use SERPROBOT, select a page on your website, and add a bunch of different keywords, you might be surprised by the results. One of the most common mistakes people make when trying to optimize their pages is attempting to rank for multiple main keywords with the same page.

If you take this approach, instead of ranking for all the keywords you want to, you’ll end up ranking for none. Once you understand how Google actually works, this becomes obvious.

The thing is, keyword research is broken.

  1. Doing effective keyword research takes skills and experience
  2. You have to manually compare each keyword against hundreds of other keywords, which often takes several weeks
  3. Most people rely on what “feels right” and don’t use data to do keyword research
  4. Without a consistent approach and proven processes, it’s impossible to delegate high-level keyword research to less-experienced SEOs
  5. You’ll end up with inconsistent deliverables between different term members

Effective optimization is the foundation of success for businesses that want to drive tons of organic search traffic. The only way to optimize your pages effectively is by ranking for a single main keyword and its variations.

If you’re trying to rank based on what “feels right” and jam as many keywords as you can in your limited digital real estate, the insights you’ll get from SERPROBOT won’t do you much good. You’ll merely see the results of different pages, but the tool can’t tell you what the underlying reasons for low rankings are.

That’s why ClusterAi pairs excellently with SERPROBOT and similar rank trackers. With ClusterAi, you can adopt a data-driven approach to keyword research.

  1. ClusterAi eliminates uncertainty by pulling data directly from Google
  2. You don’t have to stress about whether you did it right — with ClusterAi, keyword research is perfect every time
  3. It allows anyone to do expert-level keyword research, regardless of experience
  4. The entire process is fully automated — you’ll do several weeks-worth of keyword research in minutes
  5. ClusterAi gives you a list of unique content topics based on core keywords and their variations, so you’ll know exactly what to rank for with every piece of content you create

Weeks-Worth of Keyword Research in Minutes

Let us give you a bit of context to show you how easy it is to do perfect keyword research with ClusterAi every single time.

Here’s how we leveraged ClusterAi for Doggypedia, a project in the pet niche:

  1. We opened up Ahrefs Keyword Explorer and searched for the term “dog”
  2. Then, we selected the “Having same terms” feature

This resulted in over 10,000,000 queries that include “dog.”

We wanted to narrow this down and focus on a more specific topic. Next, we included “food” into the search terms to get results that include both of these terms.

Ahrefs showed us over 455,000 variations for “dog + food.”

We exported the top 25,000 keyword variations by volume, then simply imported this list into ClusterAi.

Then, we simply let ClusterAi run. The tool does everything automatically, allowing us to do perfect keyword research in minutes.

  1. ClusterAi first scrapes the top ten results on Google for every keyword on the list
  2. Then the tool compares all keywords against each other
  3. It looks for keywords that share three or more URLs to show you what keywords can rank together
  4. Finally, it clusters all the 25,000 keyword variations into unique content topics

That’s all there is to it! After several minutes, you’ll get a comprehensive list with over 1,000 unique content topics. The data is conveniently sorted by:

  • Main keyword — the core keyword in each group; the one with the highest volume
  • Search volume — total search volume for all keywords in one group
  • Variations — all keyword variations that can rank together with the main keyword

ClusterAi makes it possible to do several weeks-worth of keyword research instantly. Since the entire process is fully automated and relies on data from Google, anyone can do it, and it’s perfect every time!

How to Start Tracking Your Rankings with SERPROBOT

Tracking your rankings with SERPROBOT is pretty straightforward.

Once you register your free account and log in, navigate to “My dashboard” in the top right corner. From here, simply click the “New project” button to create a project you wish to track rankings for.

Here, add the project name so that you can tell different projects apart once you start adding dozens of them. Then, type in your domain name, or if you want to check the rankings for a specific page — check “Use URL” and copy-paste the URL of the page.

Once that step is complete, you can add keywords manually or import them from ClusterAi in bulk.

If you get the paid version of SERPROBOT, you can also adjust a variety of advanced options to change project type, perform the search for a specific device, location, etc.

After you add the project, you can tinker with other options, such as setting up email reports, adding competitors to see how they rank for the keywords you added, changing the check frequency, and so on. You can also add new keywords, delete existing ones, force refresh search volumes, and export the data as CSV.

After that, you’re pretty much done. You can add more projects if you want, and once SERPROBOT performs the checks, you’ll be able to see how your website or specific pages rank for different keywords. You’ll also be able to see graphs for all the different keywords, as well as to see how much your rankings have improved (or worsened) for those keywords.
