Rankedy Review & Alternatives — An Interesting Take on Rank Tracking and SEO
Rankedy is a rank tracker and SEO tool that’s crammed with seemingly excellent features but is known to experience various technical difficulties. Despite its self-proclaimed title of “the Goto SEO software,” the tool is hardly the best rank tracker on the market, let alone the best SEO tool available.
We’ll go over the tool’s features in detail and highlight its strengths and weaknesses, so you can assess whether or not Rankedy will integrate well into your existing workflows and meet the SEO needs of your business.

About Rankedy
Rankedy markets itself as an “all-in-one” SEO tool. Taking a quick look at the “Features” section on the tool’s homepage reveals that Rankedy is indeed much more than a simple rank tracker — it also offers advanced capabilities regarding on-page SEO, keyword research, backlink monitoring, and more. We’ll talk about the tool’s most important features in detail in the following section.
The first impression we got from the tool’s homepage isn’t good. Despite giving off the impression that it wasn’t written by someone whose first language is English, there are also some technical issues with the website.
Rankedy offers a seven-day free trial, allowing anyone who’s interested in testing out the tool risk-free to try it out before making a commitment to paying the monthly subscription fee — or so it appears.
Rankedy Free Trial
Once you enter your website’s domain and click the “Start Free Trial” button, you’ll be redirected to a page with a simple form that only asks for your name and email address. And that’s provided that the free trial button works at the time. We’ve had to attempt it multiple times to get the tool to redirect us to the free trial signup page.
One thing we like about Rankedy’s approach is that you can see your website featured on the right side of the screen, alongside the SEO-related activities the tool can help you perform.
Free Trial Setup
Although a small and seemingly insignificant detail, it gives off the impression that the Rankedy team invested significant time and effort into developing the software.
This impression changed the instant we clicked the button to create the account. The button displayed a circle signifying that the tool was loading? We’ve tested three dozen different rank trackers and hundreds of various non-SEO tools, but we’ve never run into a piece of software that has to load the free account.
We initially thought that the tool was running a full scan of the site, which would justify the lengthy loading time, but the “Whoops, something went wrong” message reassured us. While this doesn’t tell you much about the tool itself, it’s concerning when you start running into issues even before you start using it.
Just imagine how much frustration Rankedy would cause if it constantly bugged out and took forever to load, and you happened to need the information right away — say, to forward a report to a client.
After nearly an hour and dozens of attempts to create an account and start the free trial, using different domains and a slew of email addresses, we were finally able to log in and check out the tool’s features first-hand.
Before we take a closer look at Rankedy’s key features, here’s a quick overview of the tool:
Rankedy Overview | |
Monthly cost | From $29/month |
Number of keywords | From 100 to 1,000 |
Search frequency | 30 |
Actual searches per month | 3,000 – 30,000 |
Cost per keywords/monthly | $0.0097 |
Year funded | 2018 |
Number of employees | 11 – 50 |
Capterra reviews | 4.3/5 stars |
Facebook followers | 1,585 |
One thing we need to address here is the tool’s pricing. Although $29/month may not seem like much, you have to take into account that you’re only getting 100 keyword searches for that amount. Other pricing plans aren’t much better, with only 500 keywords for $159/month.
Granted, keyword tracking isn’t the only thing Rankedy offers, but still. The “Custom Plan” doesn’t have a price tag attached to it, but it is limited to 1,000 monthly keyword searches.
Rankedy Pricing
To put things into perspective, apart from severely limiting the number of keywords you can track each month, Rankedy is, on average, three times more expensive than its competitors.
Rankedy Features
We’ve gotten to the meat of things. Let’s go over Rankedy’s core features to see whether they can justify the tool’s steep price.
As with most rank trackers, the main features you should look for are:
- Search engine support
- Location and device support
- Check Frequency
- Reporting
Apart from this, Rankedy also offers:
- SEO analysis
- Backlink monitoring
- Keyword research
- Various miscellaneous features
Search Engine Support
Rankedy can track your rankings for Google, Bing, and Yahoo, which kind of clashes with its self-image of being an “all-in-one” SEO tool. What we mean by this is that, while it does support the biggest search engines, Rankedy fails to provide support for more niche search engines like Yandex, Baidu, DuckDuckGo, etc. It also doesn’t include YouTube searches.
If you were hoping for a truly comprehensive rank tracking tool, you won’t find it here. For businesses operating in, and agencies working with clients based in Russia and Asia, we recommend checking out some of the Rankedy alternatives. This also goes for businesses that heavily rely on YouTube traffic.
Location and Device Support
When it comes to narrowing down the search results by location, you’ll have the option of selecting the country and the language, as well as ticking the “Yes” box next to the “Is local business?” option.
You won’t be able to filter the results by city or area, and we highly doubt that the tool will display different results whether you answer “Yes” or “No” to the weirdly phrased question.
Rankedy does let you track your rankings for desktop and mobile devices separately, but note that checking the rank for a particular keyword on both devices counts as two keyword searches towards your already low monthly keyword limit.
Check Frequency
There’s absolutely no information regarding check frequency anywhere on the tool’s website, or within the software itself. While the team behind Rankedy might find this piece of information irrelevant, we believe that having an option to choose when to refresh the keywords can be invaluable.
While there are only a handful of rank trackers that allow you to see the rank changes once every few hours, we firmly believe that a good rank tracker should at least provide you with an option to group different keywords and select how often you want to check their rankings — daily, weekly, or monthly.
Although not a deal-breaker, the lack of customization regarding check frequency is something to consider, especially if you’re doing SEO for a number of different clients.
Reporting
Rankedy has a decent reporting feature, allowing you to both create on-demand reports and export them as PDFs, or schedule the reports and have them delivered directly to your inbox.
By default, the reports display the average and best rank for each keyword, but they are highly customizable. You can set up filters and have the reports show the data that’s most relevant to you or your client. Rankedy also offers the option to choose from multiple report templates.
The reports Rankedy generates are fully white-labeled, meaning you can add your company logo and brand colors to the reports, which is always a nifty feature to have if you’re doing SEO for clients, rather than for your own website.
Another thing worth mentioning is that Rankedy offers an upscale version of its standard rank tracker, called the Rank Journal. This feature allows you to:
- Add tags to specific keywords
- Get insights into why a page moved up or down in the SERPs
- Get notified whenever a rank of any keyword changes
- Somewhat automate the rank tracking process
Keep in mind that Rank Journal entries are also limited. With the most affordable pricing plan, you’ll be able to add 1,500 entries per month. Every tag, notification, or any other piece of information regarding the keywords you’re tracking counts as one entry.
SEO Analysis
The tool’s SEO Analysis capabilities can be broken down into three categories:
- Domain analysis
- Page analysis
- Tech footprints monitoring
The domain analysis is practically a site audit, allowing you to identify the SEO your site is facing and providing you with applicable advice on how to solve them.
This feature will analyze your website across a variety of different SEO parameters, such as:
- Website speed
- Site map
- Web archive age
- SSL certificate
- Mobile optimization
- Other important factors
The tool will grade your site depending on its performance against these parameters, giving you a quick overview of your site’s overall health and highlighting the issues that are preventing you from ranking high on Google.
The page analysis does pretty much the same, except for a specific page on your website. With the accent on on-page SEO, it also includes variables such as keyword density, H1 & H2 tags, meta title and description, missing or broken links, etc.
The “Tech footprints” feature provides a bit more insight regarding on-page technical SEO that you can leverage to further improve your website’s SEO performance.
Backlink Monitoring
Rankedy’s backlink monitoring provides a comprehensive overview of your backlink profile. Here, you’ll be able to see all of the websites linking to your content, along with the strength of each link, missing or broken links, and the domain rating of every linking domain.
You can sort the data easily through various filters and see new and lost links presented via the tool’s color-coded chart. For each domain linking to your website, the tool will show you the number of backlinks, as well as the exact pages of your site they’re linking to.
You can use this information to reach out to sites that are already linking to you and establish even more backlinks and introduce them to other amazing content that they could be linking to.
Keyword Research
Rankedy’s keyword research feature is bare-bones. It provides you with a list of keywords related to the ones you’re already tracking and shows you their monthly search volume, but offers no information beyond that.
Apart from keyword suggestions, Rankedy also provides a “Keyword Personality” feature that shows you which keywords your competitors are ranking for on the first page of Google. This can help you get an idea of what keywords you could be ranking for with your content and is a good way to gain a better understanding of what your target audience is searching for.
The trouble, however, is that the tool doesn’t feature links to competitors’ pages that rank for the listed keywords. Instead, you would have to manually google them and comb through the pages one-by-one. In our opinion, removing automation from the equation defeats the purpose of having a software tool in the first place.
Miscellaneous Features
Apart from the standard package, Rankedy also incorporates a slew of miscellaneous features, such as:
- Password manager
- Dashboard
- Activity stream
- Goals configuration
You’re probably wondering: “How in the world is dashboard an extra feature?!”
That’s exactly the issue with Rankedy — they’re offering a bunch of basic features and using strong website copy to promote them as something extraordinary. While we don’t blame them for this marketing approach, we have to say that the tool doesn’t live up to the hype they create on their website.
A Word of Caution
The tool’s homepage, Facebook page, and unresponsiveness don’t really make Rankedy the most appealing option when it comes to tracking the performance of your keywords and SEO campaigns.
There’s also the issue with their “fantastic, 24/7 live support.” In reality, this is nothing but a form you need to fill out to send them an email — the tool doesn’t have live chat support, although it leads you to believe that is the case. After filling out the form to “connect with one of their agents,” you’ll simply see a message telling you that your email was successfully sent, with a button allowing you to resend it.
You read that right. We were just as confused as you are right now, but that’s what the “live support” window says:

How to Automate Keyword Research Before Using Rankedy or Any Other Rank Tracker
Let’s face it — keyword research is broken.
- Doing effective keyword research takes a ton of skills and SEO experience
- It’s a slow, arduous, manual process that nobody enjoys doing
- Everyone relies on intuition to do keyword research — even the top 1% of marketers — but nobody is using data to make keyword decisions
- It’s practically impossible to delegate high-level keyword research to junior SEOs
- You end up with inconsistent deliverables
Most people make peace with all of the above because they simply believe that there is no other way to do keyword research.
But what if we told you that there is a way to turn keyword research from an unpredictable art into an exact science? What if, on top of that, anyone could do it and you could ensure that it’s perfect every time?
You’d probably call us crazy. Yet, with the right tool, you can pull data directly from Google and automate the entire process, getting weeks’ worth of work done in minutes, while ensuring that the keyword research is 100% accurate.
With ClusterAi, you can nail keyword research and SEO every single time:
- ClusterAi scrapes data directly from Google — this completely removes uncertainty and the possibility of human error from the equation
- It automates the keyword research process in its entirety, saving you both valuable time and money
- The tool does all the hard work, meaning that anyone can do expert-level keyword research, even if they have absolutely no previous SEO experience
- The tool clusters keywords together to create unique content topics, so you’ll always know exactly what keywords to rank for with each page
Keyword Research That Brings Reliable, Consistent Results
We know that “perfect keyword research without any SEO experience” is difficult to believe. That’s why we’ll give you a real-world example of ClusterAi in practice, so you can see first-hand just how easy it is to do expert-level keyword research with this incredible tool.
Say we have a client who wants to start a website in the pet niche. The main topic they want to cover is dog food. To get started, we would:
- Open up Ahrefs Keyword Explorer and search for the term “dog”
- Select the “Having same terms” feature and type in “food”
Ahrefs will show us a list of over 455,000 queries that meet our criteria.
Now, all we need to do is export the top 25,000 keywords, based on their monthly search volume, and import them into ClusterAi. This literally takes two clicks.
- ClusterAi scrapes the top ten results on the first page of Google
- It compares all keywords on the list against each other
- The tool searches for keywords that have three or more URLs in common
- It clusters the ones that meet the criteria into keyword groups, based on the main keyword and all of its variations, creating unique content topics around them
In just minutes, we get a list of over 1,000 unique content topics from the 25,000 keywords. The data in the list is shown by:
- Main keywords
- Total search volume
- Keyword variations
Click any cell to expand it and see the full list of variations.
That’s weeks’ worth of keyword research that anyone can do in less than five minutes. Plus, it’s all based on data directly from Google, so it’s perfect every time.
