1. SERPWatcher Review & Alternatives — A Simple Rank Tracker With Limited Functionality

SERPWatcher is one of the SEO tools created by a Slovakian IT company — Mangools.

The tool is a simple rank tracker that allows you to see where you rank on Google for chosen keywords, export lists, and create reports, but doesn’t offer any advanced features.

Coupled with the other SEO tools in the company’s portfolio, SERPWatcher can be a decent option for people who are looking for a quick way to assess their rankings, but it falls a bit short in the eyes of experienced SEO professionals.

Why You Should Listen to Us About SERPWatcher

When it comes to SEO, keyword research, and rank tracking, we know what works.

In the last year alone, we took three projects from zero to over 100,000 monthly organic search visitors.

    Doggypedia.org (Publisher)

We grew Doggypedia to 18,500,000 Pinterest impressions and over 5,700 hours watched on YouTube in one year.

In this article, we’ll give you an unbiased review of SERPWatcher, so you can see whether the tool meets your needs and how well it integrates into your existing workflow.

We’ve reviewed over 35+ of the best rank trackers on speed, accuracy, price, and other crucial features, so you can also check how SERPWatcher stacks against the competitors

    About SERPWatcher

SERPWatcher is a pretty straightforward keyword rank tracker that focuses on one thing but does it well.

While some tools attempt to attract new users by jamming in as many features as possible alongside rank tracking, Mangools — the company behind SERPWatcher — takes on a fundamentally different approach.

Rather than mashing keyword tracking, backlink monitoring, site audit, and keyword research together in a single software, they dedicated a separate tool to each feature. This is great news for people who are fairly new to SEO since they won’t feel overwhelmed.

The best part about the company’s approach is that you don’t have to subscribe to each tool individually. With any subscription plan, you get access to all of Mangools’ SEO tools — it’s just that they function as separate apps.

While some people prefer having access to all the different functionalities from a single application or tab in their browser, we personally like the approach Mangools took with their SEO tools.

If you want to have everything all in one place, we suggest checking out some of SERPWatcher alternatives

The great thing about SERPWatches is that you can start tracking your keywords in minutes. From the tool’s homepage, you can enter the domain you wish to track keywords for and click “Start tracking.”

    SERPWatcher Homepage

The tool will prompt you to create an account and start your free trial. Once you enter your email address and password, you’ll be redirected to the tool’s dashboard automatically.

Alternatively, you can click the “Start 10-day FREE trial” button in the top-right corner of SERPWatcher’s homepage, but doing so just adds an extra step since you’ll have to navigate from the Mangools dashboard to the SERPWatcher.

One thing worth mentioning regarding the Mangools free trial is that they’re offering a 10% lifetime discount if you upgrade to a paid plan within an hour.

    Mangools Lifetime Discount

This time limit kind of defeats the purpose of the ten-day free trial. You can work around it by simply creating a new account with a different email address after the trial period is over and taking advantage of the discount.

    Mangools Pricing

The pricing plans for the company’s SEO tools aren’t too flexible.

There are only three plans to choose from:

    • Basic
    • Premium
    • Agency

The Basic plan costs $29.90 per month and only allows you to track up to 100 keywords. The most expensive option — the Agency plan — is $79.90 per month, with a limit of 1,200 daily keyword lookups.

    Mangools Pricing

In our opinion, the “Agency” plan would hardly satisfy the need of any agency that’s doing SEO for several clients. We’d love to see Mangools add more subscription options, but as things stand, their tools are a good fit for individual marketers, affiliates, and business owners only.

Keep in mind that you’re not paying for just SERPWatcher with the monthly subscription. You will also have access to:

    1. KWFinder
    2. SERPChecker
    3. LinkMiner
    4. SiteProfiler

Taking that into consideration, the subscription plans do offer good value for the money.

In this review, we’ll focus on SERPWatcher, but we’ll also take a quick look at other SEO tools Mangools offers and their functionality, so you can make an informed decision and decide whether the SEO package the company offers suits your needs.

Here’s a quick overview of Mangools, before we take a look at the company’s SEO tools and their features:

    SERPWatcher Features

The first impression we got after logging in and accessing SERPWatcher’s dashboard is that the tool is a bit too simplistic. You’ll be prompted to create a campaign as soon as you log in, but other than the few options shown on screen when setting up the keywords you want to track,  there are absolutely no features you can access from the dashboard.

    SERPWatcher Dashboard

The only options you’ll have available are “Tracking,” which shows the campaigns you have created, and “New Tracking” that allows you to create a new campaign to track keywords for a different domain.

SERPWatcher offers only the most basic functionality you would expect from a rank tracker. Plus, you’ll have to wait a couple of minutes before you can see any data regarding the keywords you’re tracking.

After the tool returns the results for your tracking, you’ll be able to do a bit more, like organizing keywords with tags, setting up notifications, and creating reports.

The key features of SERPWatcher are:

    1. Search engine support
    2. Device support
    3. Location support
    4. Check frequency
    5. Reports

    Search Engine Support

SERPWatcher provides keyword rankings for Google only. Other search engines are not supported, so if you want to see your rankings on Bing, Yahoo, Yandex, etc. — you will need to turn towards one of SERPWatcher alternatives.

    Device Support

SERPWatcher allows you to track your rankings for both desktop and mobile searches. Although you cannot select both during campaign creation, the tool does have a feature that allows you to “clone” your tracking for different devices.

This way, you won’t have to set up both campaigns manually. You can just create one for desktop, then click “Mobile” from the tool’s dashboard, and choose the “Clone for Mobile devices” option. SERPWatcher will remember all the parameters you set for the initial campaign and apply them to the mobile tracking.

Keep in mind that desktop and mobile searches count separately towards your daily keyword tracking limit. If you added 15 keywords in a desktop campaign and cloned it for mobile, the tool will count that as 30 keyword lookups total.

    Location Support

When it comes to the location, SERPWatcher allows you to narrow down your search to a specific country, city, DMA region, or neighborhood.

The option isn’t apparent from the get-go, but once you click the location field during campaign creation and start typing the desired location, the tool will provide all the various options you can choose from.

    Check Frequency

There are no options to adjust the check frequency in SERPWatcher. Instead, the tool automatically updates the keyword rankings each day to provide you with fresh data regarding your site’s position on Google.

    Reports

SERPWatcher’s reporting feature is quite neat. Rather than simply letting you download a PDF report, the tool enables you to generate interactive reports.

To share the report with a client or a team member, all you need to do is click the “Share tracking” button from the tool’s dashboard. A window will pop-up with a sharable link that you can copy and paste to share it with anyone.

    SERPWatcher Share Tracking Feature

What this does is it essentially gives other people access to your dashboard, where they can see all the keyword details like their current position, position changes, search volume history, and the URLs that rank for any given keyword.

You can also choose to schedule weekly or monthly reports, as well as set up alerts to get notified when a keyword enters/leaves the top ten or top 100 results.

With only four options available, the customization for the alerts is sorely lacking. You won’t be able to receive a notification when a keyword drops from the first to the fifth position, for example. The notification will pop-up only if it falls below the tenth place.

    KWFinder

The Mangools KWFinder allows you to perform a quick search of a specific keyword or domain and provides you with a wealth of information regarding related keywords.

This is an excellent way to discover keywords that you can rank for with your content, as well as unearth new keywords related to your website’s main topic that you can create content around.

To get started with the KWFinder, all you need to do is enter the desired keyword or domain. The tool will then provide you with a list of related keywords, alongside their monthly search volumes, cost per click (CPC), level of competition in Pay Per Click (PPC) Google Ads, and keyword difficulty.

    Mangools KWFinder

Aside from the “Related Keywords” section, the KWFinder also offers the “Autocomplete” and “Questions” functions. The former is an excellent way to see what long-tail keywords you can rank for with your pages, while the latter gives you valuable insights regarding the questions your target audience is asking, so you can optimize your content better.

You can also click on any of the results KWFinder lists to see the trend for the given keyword and a list of websites that rank the highest for it.

    SERPChecker

The SERPChecker is basically a competitor analysis tool, allowing you to check the rankings for a particular keyword and see which of your competitors rank the highest for it.

The tool will create a list of competitors for the given keyword and provide you with a ton of information regarding the pages that rank for the chosen keyword, like:

    • Link profile strength
    • Domain authority
    • Page authority
    • Citation flow
    • Trust flow
    • Facebook shares
    • Backlinks
    • Referring Domains

    SERPChecker

You can visit each page by clicking the link on the list, to see what your highest-ranked competitors are doing right and get ideas for your own content. There’s also an option to see the Snapshot, and you can export the list to CSV or save it as an image.

In the top-right corner, you can click on “Metrics settings” to choose which metrics the tool will show. There are around 50 different metrics you can select, so the insights SERPChecker provides can be quite valuable.

    LinkMiner

LinkMiner is a backlink analysis tool that lets you assess the strength of your banking profile in seconds.

The tool shows you a comprehensive list of all the domains that are linking to the articles on your website and provides information regarding:

    • Link strength
    • Anchor texts
    • Number of referring domains
    • Active backlinks
    • New and lost links

    LinkMiner

You can sort the results and export the list to CSV and can retrieve up to 1,200,000 backlinks in LinkMiner with the Agency subscription plan.

    SiteProfiler

The SiteProfiler gives you a quick overview of your website’s SEO performance, but it is not a site audit tool.

The information SiteProfiler provides is of limited use, given that it only displays your site’s domain authority, page authority, citation flow, and trust flow. The tool does not highlight any SEO issues different pages on your website might be having. It merely shows you the top content based on two metrics — Facebook shares and referring domains.

    Overall Impression of Serpwatcher

We wouldn’t say that the SEO tools Mangools offers are bad, but their UIs are not very intuitive, and all of the tools provide limited information. While it might meet the needs of new SEOs, bloggers, and affiliates, we would not recommend the Mangools SEO package to experienced SEO professionals.

How We Automate Keyword Research Before Using SERPWatcher or Any Other Rank Tracker

    Keyword research is broken.

    1. Most people share advice on how to do keyword research based on their intuition, but nobody is using data to make keyword decisions
    2. There’s a lot of trial and error, and mistakes are bound to happen when people rely on their “gut feelings”
    3. Even experienced SEOs are doing keyword research manually, which often takes weeks
    4. This makes it impossible to delegate high-quality keyword research to less experienced junior SEOs
    5. You end up with inconsistent deliverables between different team members

At contentdistribution.com, we take a fundamentally different approach to keyword research — one that relies on raw data.

With ClusterAi, we automate keyword research and turn it into an exact science, allowing anyone to perform expert-level keyword research and ensuring it’s perfect every single time.

Here’s why doing keyword research with ClusterAi is the superior option:

    1. ClusterAi pulls data straight from Google, meaning your keyword research is based on accurate, relevant, up-to-date information, rather than on what “feels right”
    2. The tool automates the entire process, allowing anyone to do expert-level keyword research, regardless of their SEO experience
    3. It saves you weeks-worth of work by providing you with a comprehensive list of keywords in just minutes
    4. The data groups core keywords with their variations, so you’ll know exactly what keywords to rank for with each page

Perfect Keyword Research in Minutes, Every Single Time

We understand that “perfect keyword research in minutes” may sound hard to believe, especially if you’re new to the world of SEO.

Instead of trying to convince you how powerful ClusterAi is, we’ll give you a real-life example to show you how the tool works in practice.

Say we’re starting a project in the pet niche. One of the topics we want to create content around is dog food. Before we can start writing the articles, we need to find the keywords that we can rank for.

    1. We need to open up Ahrefs, navigate to its Keyword Explorer, and type in “dog”
    2. Then, we can select the “Having same terms” feature and add “food,” so the tool will show us all queries that include both terms

Ahrefs shows us over 455,000 results for search queries that include “dog + food.”

All we need to do now is export the top 25,000 keywords with the highest search volume and import the list into ClusterAi

Now, we can just let ClusterAi run, and the tool will do all the heavy lifting for us:

    1. ClusterAi scrapes the top ten results on Google for every keyword on the list
    2. It compares each of the 25,000 keywords against every other keyword
    3. The tool searches for keywords that have three or more URLs in common
    4. It groups the ones that meet that criteria together to create unique content topics

In minutes, you’ll have a list of 1,000+ unique topics that you can create content around, and you’ll know exactly what keywords to rank for with each page.

The data in the list is shown by:

    • Main keyword — the core keyword you need to create content around
    • Total search volume — combined search volume of all the keywords in a group
    • Variations — related keywords that you can rank for with the same page

It doesn’t get any more data-driven than this!

Click on any cell in the list above to expand it and see the full list of keyword variations.

See how easy it is to do high-level keyword research with ClusterAi? Once you import a list of keywords, the tool does everything for you. And since everything is based on data from Google, your keyword research will be perfect every time.

This means that anyone can do perfect keyword research in minutes, even if they have absolutely no SEO experience.
